Harnett County NC:  Is it a Good Time to Buy?

Harnett County is located in the southern central part of North Carolina.  Its home to small cities such as Lillington and Dunn.  These are small towns with a nice hometown feel.  The greatest part about Harnett County is its location to Ft. Bragg and the more thriving areas of Wake County.  There are many things to take into account when looking to Harnett County as the perfect place for you.

Cost of Living

The cost of living in Harnett County is quite a bit cheaper than the American average.  Housing costs are the biggest reason why it is so affordable.  Right now Harnett County is seeing a boom in the construction of new homes.  Home buyers can find a lot for their money in this area.  Compared to the national average, Harnett County is also below the means for utilities, groceries and health care expenses. 


Harnett County is a close commute to many jobs.  The biggest one of which is Fort Bragg.  Depending on where on post you need to go, it is about a 15-minute commute.  You can also easily find your way to Sanford and Raleigh on highways that are easy to travel and not crowded.  There are many job opportunities located close to here if you don’t mind a small commute. 

This area is also growing with adding more restaurants and businesses to meet the needs of the residents here.  You won’t have to travel far to find a Walmart or a good place to eat. 

Small Town Feel

Sometimes you want to live in small town but not be so far away from the things you need.  Harnett County is the perfect place for that. You can have the best of both worlds when you choose to settle in one of the small towns of Harnett County.
