Outdoor living spaces are becoming more and more popular.  You don’t even have to live in a climate where it is warm all year round because there are heating options to make your outdoor space warm and cozy 365 days a year.  Here are some ideas to make a place outdoors to love.

There are several things you can do to bring the inside out to a patio area in your house to make it a welcoming place to entertain.  Enclose a gazebo or pergola with colorful weather-resistant curtains.  This can provide a gentle framing of an outdoor room and protect from the hottest rays of the afternoon.

Add comfortable outdoor furniture that makes socializing and lounging around more appealing.  There are many options available in outdoor furniture now and you can add colorful cushions and pillows to make it even more inviting.  Add colorful tables and accents that brings the indoors to the outside.

The right outdoor lighting options can help to illuminate your space and make it comfortable day and night.  Table lanterns are an easy way to add light to your space.  Asian inspired paper lanterns are also pretty and offer a nice lighting option.  You can hang these or place them on tables.

Another lighting option is to hang holiday lights around your space.  Many people chose the white holiday lights to keep up all year long.  The great thing about these lights is that they provide just enough light but not too much.

Tiki torches are another fun option to provide not only lighting but mosquito defense also.  There are many different ideas for lighting up your outdoor space.

The most common option for outdoor heating is the mushroom-shaped heaters you have probably seen at restaurants. These are a great option for heating larger outdoor spaces.  They are available in a variety of styles and run on propane, gas, or electricity.

Another outdoor heating option is the infrared heater.  These are a bit more efficient than a gas-powered heater as they are run by electricity.  They also come in a variety of styles that can be hung or placed in inconspicuous places.

The most popular option is a fireplace or fire pit outside.  You can have wood burning or gas varieties of these that don’t just look nice, but warm a space up also.

Have fun creating your outdoor space and make it match your personality from entertaining your friends, to just hanging out on a lazy evening.
